I'll have mine black with sugar

According to an article today on Reuters, "Coffee may cut alcohol liver damage". So, while downing a cup or two after a long night on the town may only make you a wide-awake drunk, it might just make your your liver live longer.

I wonder if coffee can help your liver with the effects of other drugs, like the daily prescription kind. For a while, I took milkthistle to help my liver absorb all the crap I take, but then I got worried about what was in the milkthistle b/c it's not FDA-regulated (not that that's a guarantee either).

I take a whole handful of stuff daily that's not FDA-regulated (including milk thistle) and have been doing so for years. So far, so good ... or maybe so far, no bad.
