Not working?
So, the US government, in the form of VP Dick Cheney, is unhappy that the Iraqi Parliament is going to take off for 2 months this summer:
"Ambassador Crocker said the vice-president would try to dissuade Iraqi politicians from taking a two-month holiday this summer."
How come the US government isn't unhappy about the fact that - according to the official calendar - its own legislative branch will only be working from January 4 to October 26 this year? And during that time it will be taking an additional 46 working days (Monday-Friday) off? I don't think even the French have a work schedule like that!

I think they check in from time to time to make sure no civil wars have erupted.

Are those civil wars here or somewhere else? You know that civil war in the United States could possibly impact their next re-election campaign strategies.
