Yes, she's strange and different...but not THAT different.

MAJOR Rant (not an actual military person)

The Shrub (aka Duhbya, Mr. Mission Accomplished, Presidink) now has an approval rating of 33% and a disapproval rating of 65%, with 28% of the people polled saying that they are downright "angry" with the Commander Guy. That 65% disapproval rating is only the second highest since the approval ratings polls have been around. He's tied by Harry Truman (during the Korean War) and only beaten by Richard Nixon at 66% (4 days before he resigned). At the same time, 45% of Americans polled now say that our would-be king George should be impeached. For those who missed it, that now means that more people think he should be impeached than approve of the job he's doing. (Just as historical information, Bill Clinton's disapproval rating never exceeded 51% - and was lower than that when he was impeached.)

The only mitigating factor may be that Congress has an even higher disapproval rating - now at almost 70%. Yet the "leaders" (and I use that term loosely) in Congress continue to say that they won't initiate impeachment proceedings because "it would be divisive". Divisive? Excuse me? Because both sides of the aisle have played so well together for the past six years? WTF!? Did America elect ANY of these bozos legislators to lead? With numbers like these, what have they got to lose by trying it? I guess I shouldn't be surprised though; they're all politicians.

Summmm-body is getting a lot of money during this presidenials term(s).

What a mess ... it will take years to untangle what has been done.

Well now I do know some good, nice politicians. They try to do right and I adore them.

But I see the problem being conservatives and their strangle hold on "discourse". They define the issues, have equated big government with bad government (see there is no "big" government reconstructing NOLA but there sure is a lot of "big" government in Iraq), and have taken over the major television news outlets.

BTW - I LOVE YOUR RANTS. Keep them up.

I'm not quite sure why the holdup on impeachment of the Chimp and Darth as clearly the Democrats were sent into power with two goals:
    1. End the war in Iraq- hasn't happened though I do give them some credit for at least forcing the Republicans to take a position that is very unpopular and should help us in 2008.

    2. Bring Oversight to this out of control administration- I'm sick of Congressional hearings that amount to nothing. Just look at this Gonzales mess, yesterday he lied in every direction and nothing will come of it. Granted, Bush doesn't have the rubberstamp anymore but enough is enough, go after these bastards once and for all before there's not a country worth saving.

If I were president my approval rating would be in the negative numbers but I'm into tough love :D

And again, another "UNBELIEVABLE" from me. It is just astounding to me the utter lack of action and movement in a positive direction over there. Is there no one available to analyze this and listen to the people? Listen to reason?

I like Chimp and Darth... good call.

I just don't understand why there isn't more action being taken. It's just so disheartening!

Jen, Part of the reason more action isn't taken is that the Democrats are just as married to big business and the K Street lobbying firms as the Republicans. While there are still some differences between the two parties, they really aren't that big.

Furthermore, the Democrats, despite having the public clearly on their side on this one, still are afraid to take the big step. Why? Because the Washington Elite, and by elite I mean the pundints at the Wasahinton Post and the NY TImes and cable news channels all will pounce on them for being out of the mainstream and ignoring the precious middle, which doesn't really exist. SImply put, the bozos who control the media all seem to think that only the far left lunatics support impeachment and the end to the war.

I suggest you check out Salon.com and read some of Glen Greenwalds wonderful post as he touches on this all the time.

    Kelly
