Not quite as well known as J. K. Rowling
I wanted to mention that funny guy Robert Kroese (aka. "Diesel") who blogs at MattressPolice.com has announced the publication date for his first book: Antisocial Commentary: From the Secret Files of the Mattress Police. It's a collection spanning 159 whole pages of over 50 (that's like, 51 or 52) of his best essays, including the perennial favorites "The Force is Middling in This One" and "Harry Potter and the Inevitable Slide Into Satanism".Antisocial Commentary will be published on August 15, but for a limited time (limited only by how long you fall for the hype) you can pre-order a signed copy at a significantly discounted price - several whole dollars off the MSRP. Diesel is a good guy and an excellent writer and he can make a helluva barrel fountain, too. Help me show some support for a fellow blogger making his first foray into the hard-copy print world. (And no, I don't know specifically why he's called "Diesel", but I'm sure it has nothing to do with the fact that he's oily, smells funny and has no spark. It's some other reason. Really.)

I'm always so happy to hear about someone publishing! Especially out of mainstream ... stuff.
Nothing with pink covers or smacks of "chiclit" or any other recognizable category.
