It's different, how?
At the same time that Germany is completing its memorial to the tens of thousands of gay victims of the Holocaust, Israel - homeland of the Jews who were also victims of the same Holocaust - will be seriously considering legislation that would ban gay pride parades and make all homosexual relations illegal. Violators of that law would be sent to "rehabilitation centers". It was not reported if the violators would also have to wear a pink triangle.

This is why I hate organized religion. Of any kind. Too little of the Worshippee and all about the Worshipper.

This is the problem with Israeli politics - the ultra-orthodox few try to shove their politics down the throats of the mostly secular masses. My guess is that this won't pass, but it's disgusting that it's even being discussed, let alone considered.

Ultra-orthodox Jews in Israeli politics, ultra-orthodox Muslims in Iranian and Afghani politics, ultra-orthodox Christians in American politics - what's the diff? Only the religion being used to justify discrimination and suppression.
